Internships & Volunteer Opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers! Our volunteer opportunities include:

  • Working in the vineyard: low stress, beautiful outdoor work. This involves walking, pruning, and a tiny bit of training.
  • Joining the committee to establish our school and community garden.
  • Joining the hospitality committee. This committee will help behind the scenes at our events this year!

We are accepting applications for 2019 Interns!

We seek to inspire ecologically-minded agriculture & partnership with land & people. Through our developing demonstration farm & vineyard, we aim to educate in sustainable agriculture while strengthening the health of people & the environment.

A nonprofit founded in 2016, we have a 40+ acre land base, including a 5 acre vineyard. In 2018, we began to develop a low environmental impact management plan, despite few blueprints for organic or biodynamic vineyards in the midwest. We’ll also continue to establish a mixed-species orchard & create a community & school garden.

-On the Grounds: Learn about conventional & organic fruit production, & engage our long-term project to develop a low impact management plan. Work in the vineyard & orchard, providing routine care & management.
-Around the Island: Work with an Island farm or farm-to-table restaurant learning about the skills of the trade through hands on experience.
-Reading & Discussion on current issues in agriculture and food studies

No experience with vineyard work is necessary.
6 weeks in June – July
PAY: Stipend for GG work & hourly wage for farm/restaurant work
