The Farmers Market at Gathering Ground is growing! We are happy to have new vendors joining us, including Pat Nikolai with crafts and baked goods, D. Marie with Jewelry, Folk Tree Farm with mushrooms and goat milk soap, Island Edibles with delectable desserts and microgreens, Sweet Mountain Farm with Honey, and Island Harvest and Hoot Blossom Farm with selection of produce! We were also recently in the newspaper!

Our local farmers market is a delight. We can get garden-fresh vegetables and many other items. At the same time, we can connect with neighbors and local vendors. Last year was great, and this year promises to be even better because of a new location and the expanded number of vendors.
To make access safer for customers, the vendors have moved the market to a new location. It is now off Lake View Road in the field of the vineyard just before Airport Road. Their booths are visible, and plenty of parking is available in the field. Their hours are Wednesday afternoons from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon.
These local vendors supply jewelry, micro greens, organic vegetables, plants, honey, bouquets, jams and more:
- D. Marie Jewelry (Donna Bell)
- Folk Tree Farm (Casey Dahl and Shawn Murray)
- Gathering Ground Summer Interns (Nathan Ochocinski and Lucille Little)
- Hoot Blossom Farm (Russell and Alessandra Rolffs)
- Island Edibles (Dean and Kyle Ransom)
- Island Harvest (Mary Harty and Kurt Kohlmann)
- Sweet Mountain Farm (Sue Dompke)
Other Island growers or crafters are welcome to join!
A couple of vendors shared their thoughts about the farmers market. Alessandra Rolffs mentioned, “One of Gathering Ground’s goals is to be a place where people can gather to celebrate agriculture. The farmers market in such a beautiful setting always feels like a celebration to me. I love seeing the other growers and makers. I love talking with the people who stop and visit the stands about what we are growing and how. Through the market, I’ve gotten to know people I wouldn’t have had the chance meet otherwise.” Kyle Ransom said, “Not everyone gardens, and we hope those folk will enjoy all the”fresh from the ground” produce available throughout the summer. To provide a food that might otherwise be unavailable is most gratifying.”
The Island’s farmers market will take place at a new location, off Lake View Road, in the field of the vineyard just before Airport Road. Hours are Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon.
