Washington Island, WI  – Gathering Ground, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting agriculture and conservation through its 38-acre working and teaching farm, is excited to announce its new status as an environmental partner of 1% for the Planet. 

1% for the Planet is an accountability partner for businesses that are ready to reject business as usual and give back to environmental partners making a difference around the globe. Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, their members have given hundreds of millions of dollars to environmental partners to date.

Through this new partnership, we are excited to expand its impact and contribute to a global network of environmental advocates. 

Gathering Ground connects learners of all ages to nature, community & healthy food through its farm-based hands-on learning experiences—including the annual Farm and Field Bike Tour, School Programs, Ground School Summer Internship Program, and Community Garden and Composting programs.
