Is it a coincidence that Earth Day falls during National Poetry Month? We think not.  Celebrate both this Earth Day with a Poetry Workshop.

Contemplate the beauty of the world around us through poetry. A fundraiser for Gathering Ground, this workshop will include: reading some odes for the natural world and writing some of our own with prompts. Free will donation. Email Alessandra for more info and location. 

Alessandra Simmons wears many hats. She’s the executive director of Gathering Ground. She writes Everyday Nature for the Washington Island Observer.  She has her PhD from UW-Milwaukee in English-Creative Writing and MFA from Indiana University. Her creative work has been published in The Southern Review, RiverStyx, AboutPlace Journal and elsewhere.
